2016 Hall of Fame Induction


J. Scott Cordin '63 was the first HCHS swimmer to win 4 individual State Championships.  He was a high school All-American all 4 years, set State Records in the 200 and 400 freestyle and 2 National Records.  He was co-captain of the 1963 State Championship team.  In college he was a Big Ten, NCAA Champion and American Record holder at Indiana University.  He was named to the All American Team in 1966 and 1967.

Dr. Janika P. Ertl '73, a Hinsdale native, was a 4 year member of the swim team and helped HCHS win a state swimming championship his senior year. Janika attended Southern Methodist University on an athletic scholarship. He graduated with honors as a pre-med major and became a nationally ranked swimmer. He attended Loyola Medical School in Chicago, interned at USC Medical Center, and completed a one year general surgery residency at St. Joseph Hospital with Northwestern University. A rare contribution of skill, creativity, positive attitude, integrity, goal setting and strong work ethics contributed and led to Janika’s success as a national level swimmer, his remarkable six year career as a orthopedic surgeon in the US Navy and today as the head of orthopedic surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center at Indianapolis, Indiana (IUPU). Janika lives in Carmel Indiana with his wife Julie and three children, Stephanie, Jani and Karchi.

LTC(P) Imad Haque '90 is a former Hinsdale Soccer and Gymnastics team Captain. He is a 1994 West Point graduate and NCAA All-American on Still Rings. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois. He is currently an active duty Army General Surgeon at Madigan Army Medical Center. He has deployed to Iraq (2) and Afghanistan (3). He lives in Medina, WA with his wife Stephanie and children Adrian, Junnah and Amirah.
